The School Sessions

On Sunday, April 12, 2015 photographers across the glob are raising $200,000 to build a school in Mellier, Haiti. I signed up to shoot portrait sessions on April 12 and donate 100% of the session fee. By joining together, in one day,we can make this need reality. You can book a shoot with me http://www.ovstills.com/about/ more info about the School Sessions can be found here http://theschoolsessions.com

Holiday Card Shoot

My close friends, that I consider brothers, asked me for photos for their annual Christmas cards. Last year the theme was kids opening Christmas gifts, you can see one of the images here. This year they decided to go a little bigger and rent top hats, suites, cain's and lock in a location at Emerson College with a piano. We laughed the entire shoot and I'm still laughing looking over these photo. After the shoot I starting hearing rumblings of Dr. J and renting out a gym, I'm not sure what these guys are cooking up but I'm already excited to shoot it.

A Talk With Spencer Braithwaite

After eating a few burgers on Father's Day, I talked to Spencer for a few moments about my talk project and he was in without hesitation. Questions were not planned we just went for it with a single strobe, shoot through umbrella and my Canon 5D classic. For something that was so spontaneous I think the results turned out great.

OVP: How was your life when you were younger? SB: It was good we had hard times financially but we made the best of it.

OVP: Worst situation you have been in? SB: Hmmmmm hahaha OVP: Be Honest haha. SB: Hahaha I was trying to steal this bike well not actually the bike just the wheel and someone called the police on me and my boy. The police chased us and my tire popped and we got caught. The good thing is we didn't have to go to court or anything.

OVP: Can you remember a time when you felt at your lowest?   SB: When I was younger moving out of the projects to Roxbury was tough, I didn't know anyone. I left all of my friends. OVP: Have you had a low point recently?   SB: Yeah when I didn't get a college scholarship I almost quit basketball.  OVP: What happened?   SB: Coaches seen me and said I was too small so I worked hard and now I'm playing for the coach that didn't choose me. OVP: That must be a great feeling.   SB: Yeah it is, the coach apologized and everything.
